Newsletter News

A LARGE "Thank you" to everyone that registered for the new emailed Wednesday Newsletter. Please continue to encourage other parents to sign up as we move away from paper. We are hopeful of a large enrollment as we work to make this transition.

Multicultural Day

Three cheers to Sandy Jadallah and Helen Roy who organized our recent Multicultural Day. Students and teachers were treated to a day of talent, fashion, dance, music, and food. Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who contributed food samples for our fabulous lunch! Our day truly celebrated our diversity!

St. Patrick's Celebration

On Saturday, March 1, the Parish will host the annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner in the pavilion. We are grateful to Mrs. Connelly for organizing the Irish dancers for the evening. On Tuesday, March 4, these same dancers will perform for the students at 8:20 A.M., in the auditorium.

We ask your help in supervising children at the dinner on March 1.

  • All children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • No children should be in the schoolyard.
  • Children should not be running around the pavilion or in and out of the bathrooms.
  • Respect should be shown to all of our entertainers.

Since the Feast of St. Patrick (March 17) is during Holy Week this year, the Archdiocese has transferred the celebration of the feast to Friday, March 14. In keeping with the solemnity of Holy Week, the school children will not have classroom St. Patrick’s Day parties this year.

Accreditation Process

As you know our faculty has been preparing a self-study report since August 2006. All of this work has been in preparation for the accreditation visit by a group of educators for three days--March 11, 12, 13.

During these days this committee of seven educators will visit all classes, meet with the teachers and staff, a committee of parents and students, and the administration of the school, including Monsignor Harriman. After reviewing our self-study book, observing classes, and meeting with our constituencies, the team will compile their final report concerning our school. This report, along with our self-study, will be sent to the Commissioners of The Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Western Catholic Education Association who will examine the documentation and determine the term of accreditation.

We should be notified in June as to the number of years of accreditation we will receive. In April there will be copies of our self-study book available in the office for parents to sign-out.

To celebrate the end of this process, we will NOT have school on Friday, March 14.

Good Friday

In keeping with the spirit of Good Friday, there should NOT be any children playing in the school yard between 12:00-3:00, on Friday, March 21.

There is a children’s liturgy in the Lower Church from 12:00-1:30, and at 1:50 in the Church a group of junior high students will present the Passion from St. John’s Gospel as part of the Solemn Good Friday Liturgy.
