Last Wednesday Envelope!

Earthquake Relief

Thank you for your generous support of Catholic Relief Services to the earthquake victims of the Sichuan province of China. Our free dress day on Friday, May 23, sponsored by the fifth grade totaled $1,738.76! Your generosity is always overwhelming!

Birthday Book Club

Thank you to the families and teachers who donated books to our school library through the Birthday Book Club. We have added some beautiful books to our library through your efforts! Next week your child will be receiving his/her picture that has been displayed in the hallway. A special thank you to Ann Caltagirone, Mona Burke, and Luana Letele who have done such a great job coordinating this program.

Uniform Exchange and Free Dress

In order to facilitate making uniforms available for the Uniform Exchange, the students will have free dress on Tuesday through Thursday (June 3-June 5) of next week. Hopefully, this will allow some time for you to wash any items you would like to donate to the Uniform Exchange and send them to school on Thursday, June 5.

Students may wear play clothes Tuesday through Thursday (June 3- June 5). Please follow the FREE DRESS POLICY as stipulated in the Parent/Student Handbook: “Students may wear pants or jeans provided they are not torn, faded, or frayed. No low cut or skin tight jeans! No baggy clothes! Tennis shoes and walking shorts (NOT SHORT SHORTS) may also be worn. Mini skirts, short cropped tops, and tank tops are not allowed. Shirts are to be appropriate for school, avoiding logos which are insulting or suggestive. Closed shoes and socks are required. Not allowed: make-up, nail polish, multiple earrings, hanging earrings, necklaces!”
Since Free Dress is a privilege, cooperation of both students and parents is requested so that the standard of school dress is maintained. We reserve the right to send anyone home who comes to school inappropriately dressed.

After school (12:30) on Thursday, June 5, there will be tables in the Lower Church with used uniform items. Feel free to pick up an extra shirt, sweater, etc. for your child for next year!

Uniforms for 2008-2009

Block and star emblems were awarded to some students at the sports awards assemblies and should be sewn on the lower right of the sweater. A school sweater is REQUIRED for all students (K-8) and a belt is REQUIRED for all boys! Uniform shoes for both boys and girls will be SOLID WHITE, LOW CUT, tied or velcro, no zippers.
No student will be admitted into school next year with dyed, bleached or spiked hair. No fad haircuts allowed! Boys must be clean-shaven. Shaved heads and blade cuts less than two are not acceptable. Hair must be out of the eyes and off of the collars! Thank you for your cooperation.

Tuition Procedures

By July 15 a coupon book with envelopes will be mailed to each family. The family’s tuition payment in the form of check or cashier’s check must be mailed or delivered to the rectory in the envelope provided by the tenth of each month. Tuition payments are not accepted by the school office. The first payment is due by August 10, and the last payment by May 10. Students will not be admitted to school on August 21 if the first payment (due August 10) has not been received.

Books Covered

All of the students’ hardback books need to be cleaned and covered at the end of the school year. Teachers may be sending these books home to be covered. Grocery store paper bags are fine to use! Thanks for your help!
