Sandwiches
Thank you for such a FABULOUS response to our Thursday Sandwiches for the Poor. Please remember to send in
an extra sandwich each Thursday throughout the school year.


Special thanks to the students in Grade 1, Room 4 and Grade 4, Room 17 who worked together making sandwiches
for our first Thursday collection.

Mandatory Parents Meeting
“Digital Kids: Safe, Smart and Responsible” will be presented by Common Sense Media. Learn about the influence of media on how your kids think, feel, act, socialize, and make decisions! Get practical tips on what to do about it! (click here)

Please mark this date since at least one parent from each family MUST attend. If at least one parent cannot attend, please contact Sr. Marilyn.

Free Dress for $1.00 Friday, October 10, 2008
Thank you so much for you generosity! We will send a check for $756 to the National Catholic Education Association which will distribute all donations to Catholic schools and parishes affected by Hurricane Ike.

Halloween Candy Guess - Two Guesses for 25¢
The Student Council will be selling guesses at the morning recesses from Monday, October 20 through Friday, October 24. The winners will be announced at the Halloween Parade!

Bookshop West Portal—Friday, October 24 - Monday, October 27
For four days in October, Bookshop West Portal will donate a percentage of sales (15% in cash) to St. Cecilia School. Customers just mention St. Cecilia School when checking out! Note—this School Days promo cannot be combined with other promotions, such as the Bookshop West Portal Frequent Buyer program or the Anniversary Sale.

Birthday Book Club
Thank you to all of our Birthday Book Club Members. An amazing 60 books have been donated to the school library since August 21! For a full list of members and the books they donated (click here). Thank you all very much for your generosity!


Festival

Thanks!
Monsignor Harriman and Sister Marilyn want to thank Helen Roy and Cindy Coyne for a doing such a great job chairing the festival. It was a great weekend full of fun, food, and excitement. Thanks also to all the booth chairs and families/parishioners who supported the event with their presence and quarters!

Cake Booth
Elaine Shanahan, Susan Dal Porto, and Ann Hildula thank all who supported the Mothers’ Club Cake Booth with their fabulous treats and cash donations. There were so many delicious things and everyone enjoyed them. A huge thank you also to the awesome cake booth volunteers. Without each of you, the Cake Booth would not have been the success that it was. We’re looking forward to next year’s Cake Booth!

Red Kite Gala Event

The Joanne Pang Foundation will honor Dr. Jordan Wilbur with the First Annual Red Kite Gala “Life Saver Award”, at the at the Irish Culture Center, in San Francisco, on Saturday, November 22. Dr. Jordan Wilbur is widely recognized as a pioneer in pediatric cancer treatment. For more information (click here).
