At St. Cecilia School, seventh and eighth grades are a time of growth where our students begin to mature into citizens who will demonstrate excellence in high school and beyond. There is an emphasis on rigorous academic preparation and service. The Junior High program is departmentalized, with teachers specializing in a subject area: math, science, social studies, and English language arts. Students also study religion with their homeroom teachers, who will work with students and their families to prepare them to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. There is also an emphasis on mental health and mindfulness with counselor-led courses and support across all grade levels. Junior High students attend weekly music and physical education classes as well. Technology is integrated into all subjects, and St. Cecilia follows a one-to-one device model, with each student provided their own Chromebook for use at school. The Junior High curriculum also incorporates creative, project-based learning and teacher-led art lessons. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in student council and various extracurriculars.

Our students have been successful at numerous prestigious Catholic, public, and independent high schools, including St. Ignatius College Preparatory, Sacred Heart Cathedral High School, Archbishop Riordan High School, Junipero Serra High School, Lick-Wilmerding High School, Mercy High School Burlingame, Convent & Stuart Hall Schools of the Sacred Heart, San Francisco University High School, Urban High School, Drew School, and the Bay School of San Francisco.
